NI fans enjoy Game of Thrones preview

Around 500 Game of Thrones fans enjoyed a preview screening of the first episode of the upcoming fourth series in Belfast on Thursday.

Belfast actor Ian McElhinney, who plays Ser Barristan Selmy, was a special guest at the exclusive event courtesy of Belfast Film Festival.Over 7,000 Game of Thrones fans across Northern Ireland took part in a lottery for the much sought after tickets to attend the showing."We are staggered, but not entirely shocked, by the huge response to our Games of Thrones exclusive preview lottery," said Damian Connor, Marketing Manager with Belfast Film Festival."It's a cult series which is filmed at various locations across Northern Ireland and has a huge following here, which is why we were keen to grab this coup. Excitement is at fever pitch!"The eagerly anticipated fourth season is set to tackle the second half of A Storm of Swords - the third book of George RR Martin.The episode 'Two Swords' will premiere on television in the UK and US on 7 April.
