To celebrate 10 years of The X Factor, a mash-up video has been released featuring an array of former contestants who have gone on to successful music careers.

The stars showcased in the video include One Direction, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis and JLS with a mash-up of their most famous tunes.

Contestants from recent years, such as Little Mix, James Arthur, Amelia Lily and Union J, also appear in the video.

The X Factor is set to return to UTV this autumn for what will be its tenth series of searching for the next big music act.

Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh complete the judging panel with Dermot O'Leary returning for hosting duties.

This series will see some changes to the auditioning format.

Hopefuls first have to face the judges in an intimate audition room, then, if they receive three or more yes votes, they perform for the judges once more in an arena in front of an audience.

If anything this just shows how every X Factor song is the most bland, generic pop-by-numbers!
