Around 30,000 fans flocked to the Boucher Road venue on Tuesday night to hear frontman David Grohl and the band, who formed in Seattle in 1994, perform in Northern Ireland for the first time.
"Tell me you're not in love with this audience right now?" Grohl demanded of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
"This audience could keep you warm on a night like this."
Having received a rapturous welcome, they were quick to promise the Foo Fighters will be back.
"So sorry it took so long," Grohl said. "I promise it won't take so long for us to come back again."

Earlier, downpours had threatened to ruin what turned out to be a clear and loud night in the city.
And rocking out hits like All My Life, Learn To Fly, These Days and Best Of You, the band inadvertently ensured it wasn't just concertgoers who enjoyed their set.
Many Twitter users, including Ulster Rugby star Adam D'Arcy, reported hearing the gig across parts of Belfast and beyond.
Responding to queries, local SDLP councillor Claire Hanna even tweeted: "Am advised that the Foo Fighters music is within the agreed levels but is travelling so far due to it being such a clear night."
Local fans also joined the band in singing Happy Birthday to the Foos' tour manager Gus Brandt.
And there were awws from the crowd when they were introduced to Grohl's daughter Violet, with the little girl enjoying the gig from the stage - ear defenders firmly in place.
"Boo, this one's for you," Grohl told her, before launching into Wheels.
The Foo Fighters ended their set with popular choice Everlong, which - along with every other song - had the crowds belting it out along with the band.
The Black Keys also performed on Tuesday, as well as The Cribs, The Minutes and local band Trucker Diablo.
Florence and the Machine will perform on Wednesday along with the Stone Roses, who are coming to the city as part of their long-anticipated comeback tour which has thrilled fans across the globe.
This year's Vital saw the festival shift venue for a third time, as the open-air concerts began at Botanic Park in 2002 and then moved to Ormeau Park five years later.
It didn't take place between 2008-2010, but made a return in 2011, when Snow Patrol played to a home crowd in Bangor's Ward Park.
Previous acts to perform as part of the event include Eminem, Manic Street Preachers and Two Door Cinema Club.
