It was recently announced that presenter Suzanna Reid would be coming on board, along with former GMTV star Ben Shephard, to front new programme Good Morning Britain.
The show will replace Daybreak which is currently hosted by Lorraine and Welsh singer Aled Jones. Lorraine's own late-morning show will remain part of the breakfast schedule.
The presenter told Phillip and Holly: "I'm delighted, because I couldn't have started any earlier and the new team, Susanne and Ben, they're going to be starting at 6am and for me that would mean getting up at 3am.
"I was feeling a wee bit like I was neglecting my show, it was like having two children and giving one more attention than the other - so for me it is wonderful and I'll be doing it five days a week.
"Suzanne and Ben (will be) a great team, (as will) everyone else who is coming on board.
"It is all about your team, it's all about your back-up and we've got amazing people on Daybreak, or Good Morning Britain as it will be."
The Scottish presenter added that she never thought of her role at Daybreak as a long term position.
"I almost saw myself as sort of keeping the seat warm and just keeping the ship steering until they got their plans in place and now they have.
"I think this set-up now that we are going in to is really going to be fantastic.
"I've met Suzanne and she's brilliant, she knows breakfast television inside out which is a great advantage of course and she is a lovely girl and that counts for so much."
