Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson is donning his running shoes for an unusual record attempt - he is taking part in the world's biggest online race.

Kaiser Chiefs star aims to set record

The I Predict A Riot hitmakers have been announced as ambassadors for the Xbox Live Summer Stadium campaign this summer - and among their roles the group will be urging European videogame fans to take part in an online 100 metre dash on Xbox Kinect Sports in a bid to set a world record on 16 June.

The Kinect system mirrors players' movements and Wilson can't wait to take part in the race to raise money for charity Right To Play, which helps educate children facing adversity.

He says: “We want to encourage our fans and Xbox communities to raise funds for a brilliant cause. Tomorrow, on 16 June, I’ll be joining people across Europe in the charity fun run on Xbox LIVE. It takes just 10 seconds of your time to do something which will actually help children around the world."
