Conducted by Frank Strobel, the Orchestra performed music from the films of Steven Spielberg composed by the legendary John Williams.
The 'Music for the Big Screen' event, which was held at The Venue, was billed as one of the highlights of the cultural year.
Music from blockbusters such as Jurassic Park, Jaws, Schindler's List and E.T: The Extra Terrestrial were included in the programme.

Before the concert John Williams sent a personal letter of support to the city in its year as UK City of Culture.
Writing from his home in California, the composer sent his best wishes in a letter to the concert organisers.
"I'm delighted to send greetings from Los Angeles, along with my warmest thanks to Maestro Strobel and to all my dear friends in the London Symphony Orchestra for performing so much of my music," he wrote.
"I'd also like to send my fond regards to everyone gathered at Ebrington Pavilion, along with my best wishes for a joyous night of music."
