Sir Mick Jagger took out an injunction to block the release of his love letters, according to an ex-girlfriend.

Jagger blocked love letters release

The Rolling Stones legend penned a series of romantic notes during his heyday in the 1960s and 1970s but allegedly obtained a court order to ban any publication of the letters.

Model/actress Chrissie Shrimpton, younger sister of modelling icon Jean Shrimpton, dated Jagger for three years from 1963 and claims to have discovered the injunction when a pal later suggested she sell her hoard of love letters.

Shrimpton reveals she was so "disgusted", she sent the notes back to Jagger.

She says: "Mick Jagger had put up an injunction preventing their publication on the grounds that while I owned the paper they were written on, he owned the words... I was so disgusted I sent most of the letters back to him."

Another of Jagger's former lovers, singer Marsha Hunt, is selling her letters from the star at an auction in London next month.
