Those 240,000 illegal downloaders should be ashamed of themselves. That poor woman could end up homeless and destitute because they're too stingy to buy a cd. If you like it, buy it. If you don't like it, good luck finding an HMV to take it back to.

Lost out on $3.8m? assumes that everyone who downloaded it would have otherwise bought it. Also $15 for downloading files is ridiculous (minimal overheads ie CD/printing/shipping/packaging). Record companies need to rethink their pricing. I bought CDs for years at £14-15 (was a lot of money 15 years ago!). Even at £10 - download albums are too expensive. No wonder people download illegally. As soon as the companies stop ripping off consumers, the sooner illegal downloading will decrease.

Ahhh it's very true that money is the enslavement of humanity.Even those who have more than they need cry about not getting more.My sympathy is with those who wouldn't mind just having the change in her pocket.
