The newest rival to Northern Ireland's big three of Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke is just one-year-old and was rescued by a wildlife centre in Crumlin when he was just a few days old.
Now, the hedgehog known as Bramble is destined for stardom - appearing in the Northern Ireland Tourist Board's latest advert, which promotes the Irish Open due to be held in June.
He was initially only going to be cast as an extra, scurrying across the green - but ended up actually sinking a putt in a scene-stealing moment.
"He ended up impressing us all as he knocked the ball into the hole - the perfect finish to the advert, and all the more remarkable when you consider that he is blind," Ruth Burns from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board said.
"He's now become the most talked about hedgehog in Northern Ireland and I'm pleased to say that he seemed to enjoy the experience as much as any of us."
The advert is part of an all-Ireland marketing drive to promote the Irish Open as a key event in the ongoing ni2012: Our Time Our Place campaign.
The television campaign teed off in the Republic of Ireland earlier this month and hits Northern Ireland screens on 28 May, running until 24 June.
