Former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and Eastenders actress Charlie Brooks are the final two contestants, getting ready to fight for the title.

Before leaving the camp, David kissed and hugged the two finalists and said: "I told ya! Girl power. Good luck girls."

The Hayemaker was booted off the show on Friday - despite volunteering for the Bushtucker Trial Well of Hell.

David's challenge didn't pass without a bit of drama - he had his hand nibbled by a bandicoot.

And presenters Ant and Dec admitted that they had saved the best trial to last.

Prior to entering the Well of Hell, the boxer said that it felt "really good" to be in the final three.

"I've gone this far, 22 days in the jungle, now I'm here I'll go as far as I can."

I want them both to win. I want it to be either of them. In my eyes they are both winners.

The trial required David to jump into a bucket and be lowered down into darkness.

To his left and right, the stars were contained in holes in the walls - but the stars were different colours and split in half. He needed to find matching halves in order to win a meal.

All sorts of creatures were waiting for the ex-champ in each hole from yabbies to scorpions...even a little crocodile.

He said: "I'm glad it was me and not the girls who did this, they wouldn't have liked this one bit, they wouldn't have liked that ferret or whatever it was that bit me, plus I have a neck and back that's been bitten up by cockroaches and worms."

An impressed Charlie said: "He plays everything down, nothing seems to faze him."

The trial was not all that David won. The final trio also hosted the Jungle Awards with the Hayemaker winning 'Bravest Campmate'.

He had originally suggested ex-Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, who failed five challenges in a row.

But Charlie disagreed, saying: "She doesn't get the bravest, sorry."

Helen still won an award though - 'Most Cowardly'.

David said: "Helen finally got it in the end, but at one stage she was very cowardly and we missed many meals."

Charlie added: "We did, we missed five meals. It ain't good enough."

Helen also received the award for the 'Laziest Campmate' with Ashley saying: " Love you sweetheart but you didn't do a damn thing around here."

Ashley won 'Most Attractive' and 'Best Singer' while Charlie won 'Most Caring Campmate'.

The trio were also rewarded with champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate after succeeding in a special jungle celeb quiz.

They also won fluffy white dressing gowns, scented candles and music for their evening in the hot tub.
