The group disbanded 19 years ago after Ryder's drug addiction spiralled out of control, but last month they announced plans to reunite for a tour in May.
But Ryder is adamant the band will not be putting out a new record to support the trek.
He tells Real Radio: "There's absolutely no plans at the moment for a new album."
Ryder also used his interview to dismiss speculation the Happy Mondays will be supporting The Stone Roses at their shows in their native Manchester, north-west England in June.
He adds: "I'll put this straight; there's no plans, it's absolutely garbage that we are going to be playing at Heaton Park with Stone Roses, that's rubbish."
