Halliwell spices up musical for charity

The pop star appeared in the West End version of the classic movie as part of the BBC's annual Pop Goes the Musical fundraiser, in which stars make guest appearances in famous London productions for Children in Need.

She donned a suit and trilby to perform at the Palace Theatre in the show's finale - the rain-soaked title track made famous by Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds in the 1952 movie.

After her one-off performance, Halliwell took to Twitter to thank her fans for turning out to support her, writing: "Thank you so much for tonight, everyone at the theatre were gorgeous, so lovely to see my fans.. You're the best in the world, so loyal!"

Singer Alexandra Burke performed in Les Miserables for the charity, while Macy Gray will tread the boards in Thriller Live next month.
