A celebrity charity single for Haiti earthquake victims was knocked off the top of the charts.
After two weeks at number one, Helping Haiti's Everybody Hurts, orchestrated by pop mogul Simon Cowell, was pushed down eight places to ninth spot, according to the Official Charts Company.
In My Head, a new entry by 20-year-old American R&B singer Jason Derulo, shot straight in at number one.
You Got The Dirtee Love - a collaboration between Florence and the Machine star Florence Welch and Dizzee Rascal - had to settle for the number two position for a second week.
A further two new releases made it into the top 10 - Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed and the latest single from Sugababes, Wear My Kiss.
In the album charts, Lady Gaga's The Fame moved up from number two to the top spot for a second stint, having previously spent four weeks at number one last year.
Among the new entries to the top 40 albums was Our Gracie - The Best Of Gracie Fields, which went in at number 29.
The compilation of hits saw the star from Rochdale, who was born in 1898, returning to popular culture more than 30 years after her death.
HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said: "Whether it's the current economic climate or a simple yearning for more optimistic times, you get a real sense that nostalgia has a growing appeal right now.
"Music fans are enjoying becoming re-acquainted with Gracie Fields, who was Britain's first true pop star at a time when recorded music really began to take off among the wider public."
