Jade Collins exits the X Factor (© ITV)
The 17-year-old travelled to Saint Lucia with fellow contestants Jade Ellis, Ella Henderson, Amy Mottram, Leanne Robinson and Lucy Spraggan in a bid to survive the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.
She belted out 'It Must Have Been Love' by Roxette for mentor Tulisa and guest judge Tinie Tempah, who praised her "raw talent".
The teenager, who said her dad was in and out of prison his whole life, has her biggest fan - her mum, who advises her and customises her stage outfits.
"If I got a yes, I would be the happiest person in the world," she explained. "I just feel ready for something good to happen. I don't want it to be over".
Jade was shaking with nerves as she waited for Tulisa's verdict - and the mentor asked her to hold her hand.
"You're a fighter; we can see that you work really hard and you actually improved yesterday," Tulisa told her.
But the judge picked Ella, Jade Ellis and Lucy for the live shows.
"It's such a strong category this year," she told the Belfast teen.
"Babe, I'm sorry I'm not taking you through to live shows. It's been a pleasure meeting you."
Jade told host Dermot O'Leary: "I feel sick, just gutted."
There were tears too as Essex model Rylan Clark learnt Nicole Scherzinger had picked him to go through to the live shows. His over-the-top reaction involved cushion-cuddling, floor-crawling and what appeared to be wolf-howling.
