Movie bosses have assured fans Hugh Grant is still on board for the third Bridget Jones movie, despite recent reports he had bowed out.

Grant signed up for more Jones films

It was rumoured the British actor, who plays charming troublemaker Daniel Cleaver, had dropped out of shooting the forthcoming installment.

But Working Title chairman Tim Bevan is adamant Grant will be in the cast, insisting: "Reports that Hugh Grant has exited Bridget Jones's Baby are untrue."

Bevan also admits production has been delayed as writers continue to develop the script.

He explains: "We are still working on the script, hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned."

Renee Zellweger is to reprise the title role as the hapless singleton in the upcoming romantic comedy.
