Katie Price has said she decided to quit the I'm A Celebrity jungle after proving to the public she was "genuine".

The glamour girl, who is not being replaced, called it a day after repeatedly being chosen for the stomach-churning 'bushtucker trials'.

After viewers again chose her to carry out another challenge last night she refused and by this morning she had fled.

Katie said she had proved herself and did not want to carry on with the show. The mother-of-three said she was also missing her children.

"I'm not in it to win it, it makes no odds to me," she said. "It's not about the money. I didn't come back here for that. I really miss my kids."

She continued: "I've done my challenges, people can see I'm genuine. I just don't want to be here any more."

Katie - who was enduring her second stint in the jungle after first appearing in 2004 - was picked to appear in her seventh trial on Sunday night, called Bad Pit, alongside ex-boxer Joe Bugner.

But she responded: "Someone else has to do it. I'm just not doing it anymore."

A spokesman for the show said there were "no current plans" to replace her on the show.
