After months of lies and deceit, the truth eventually bubbled over as Charity's suspicions grew.
But for Rachel it has been a difficult time not only keeping the huge secret, but lying to her love, Sam Dingle.
"It's been a year and a half that she has had to keep quiet and I think it was all ok at the start and then she met Sam and fell in love," explained Rachel.
"I think that's when her heart told her that she had to tell the man that she loved the truth.
"It's been really difficult.
"She thought that Sam would leave her and lo and behold, Sam being the absolute legend that he is, he took it like a complete man told her that he would be there for her.
"She was very scared but luckily it all went right.
But her happiness with Sam couldn't protect her from Charity's anger when she gathered all involved parties in the factory to finally get the truth.
Rachel said: "It was great because she cleverly brought us all together back to where the dirty deed was done and in true Charity style she went a bit crazy and slapped me.
"The way things have gone after the whole reveal with Charity, it has been a little bit rocky. Charity is seemingly getting through this in terms of she always makes something work.
"But the more somebody suppresses their inner turmoil, the worse it is when it blows up.
"What is planned for Archie's birthday is that Charity decides that they are going to have the birthday at Holdgate which throws everybody and it's safe to say it doesn't really go according to plan."
So with Charity pretending everything is fine when it clearly isn't, Gemma revealed that there are explosive scenes soon to come in Emmerdale.
"One of the questions is how will Jai, Rachel and Archie come together in the future?
"Well there are going to be a lot of twists and turns and Charity has a very cunning and evil dark side to her which definitely comes out and does affect the lives of many people.
"I don't think Jai and Rachel are prepared for what is in store for them."
Emmerdale is on UTV weekdays from 7pm.
