Comedienne Ruby Wax and British actor Stephen Fry teamed up to launch Oxfam's biggest ever campaign for book donations on Monday.

Fry and Wax launch charity book drive

The stars hosted a Great British tea party at the the Hay Festival in Wales, and are calling for people across the UK to donate more than half a million books to sell at Oxfam's shops before 21 June to raise funds for the organisation's fight against global poverty.

Fry says: "It's really important to look at your bookshelves and find some books that you think you can live without to donate to Oxfam.

"Books are a wonderful gift because you're giving something that is brim-full of ideas and stories while also supporting the valuable work that Oxfam is doing around the world. Apart from anything else you'll clear your shelves for more books!"
