The Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra have created a flashmob with a difference amongst passengers on board the Copenhagen Metro.

The orchestra boarded the metro carriage, trying to keep their instruments concealed before beginning a rendition of Grieg's Peer Gynt.

More astute travellers may have a noticed a brief message on the standard platform signs before boarding, saying, "Classical special train - enjoy the music."

Once aboard, a single flautist begins playing before a clarinet joins, followed by other members of the wind section. Then, a group of violinists prepare to accompany them.

The orchestra plays to the passengers who are all pleasantly surprised by the impromptu classical performance.

The orchestra hope to raise public awareness and appreciation for classical music in difficult times for the genre.
