Brooks is set to perform his much anticipated concerts on 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 July.
All five dates have sold out, with 400,000 fans expected to watch the Friends in Low Places singer, ahead of his comeback world tour.
Filan announced via Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday that he would perform at Croke Park, just two years after Westlife performed their farewell concert at the venue.
The singer told fans: "I'm so excited to tell you all this news.... I have just been confirmed as the opening act for Garth Brooks in Croke Park this July."
Filan will perform on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July.
Meanwhile Nathan Carter has said he is "delighted" to also be supporting Brooks on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 July.
Earlier this year, Brooks had originally announced two dates at Croke Park, but due to high demand he added a third - with the first set of tickets disappearing in just 90 minutes.
Two further dates were then announced and tickets were promptly sold out.
Aiken Promotions said: "This will be the first time that an artist will play five consecutive sold out dates at Croke Park."
