Faces have been slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly pulling out of a UK concert last year to perform in Asia instead.

Faces sued over London gig 'drop-out'

The supergroup, which includes Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood and Simply Red's Mick Hucknall, is accused of axing its headlining set at Greenwich Summer Sessions just weeks before the event.

The stars were set to bank £47,000 to play the London event, but they walked away after they were offered £313,000 to play Japan's Fuji Rock festival, according to court papers filed at London's High Court earlier this week.

Lawyers for Peter Conway Promotions claim the band was "wrongfully in breach of the agreement" and cost organisers tens of thousands in lost revenue.

Bosses are demanding Faces hand over £97,000.
