Dolly Parton to play Glastonbury

Country music legend Dolly Parton is set to perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The 9 to 5 singer made the announced via Twitter, writing: "I'm incredibly excited to FINALLY announce that the BlueSmokeWorldTour is coming to GlastoFest on June 29th! Stay tuned for more info."

It is not yet known whether or not Parton will headline the Sunday night finale slot or play the main stage or one of the smaller stages.

Emily Eavis, whose father Michael founded the festival in 1970, said: "We are delighted to say that Dolly is coming to Glastonbury... It really doesn't get much better than this!"

Also forming the 2014 line-up is Blondie, who made the announcment during Wednesday's NME Awards.

Glastonbury Festival runs from 25 - 29 June 2014.
