Rapper Dappy has escaped bankruptcy by paying off a £140,000 tax debt.

Dappy escapes bankruptcy by paying debt

The former N-Dubz star appeared at London's Bankruptcy Court in December and was ordered to pay back the money he owed to avoid financial ruin.

Dappy, 26, has now handed over the sum and a bankruptcy petition against him was dismissed on Tuesday, according to The Sun newspaper.

The star previously denied suggestions he was suffering money troubles, insisting he is too rich and talented for bankruptcy.

He wrote in a series of posts on his Twitter page: "Far from b (bankruptcy)... I got doe (money) now and always will have!!!!!! If your (you are) talented you'll always be financially stable!!!!!"
