A host of stars are once again set to don their skates and be put through their paces by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in a new series of Dancing On Ice.

From Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson and TOWIE's Lauren Goodger, to Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas and Olympic gold-winning boxer Luke Campbell, the 2013 line-up has been confirmed.

And it sees the return of Keith Chegwin, who was forced to pull out of last year's show when he fell and fractured his shoulder.

While the new contestants and their skating partners will be hoping to avoid such nasty injuries, plenty of bumps and bruises have already been picked up in training.

"I've got a massive bruise on my bum and some on my legs from the lifts!" Anthea Turner declared.

Another skating hopeful, comedian Joe Pasquale, added: "I smell of Deep Heat every night."

I have lots of friends who play ice hockey and they just think it's hilarious that I'm attempting to skate. I should be able to skate - I'm Canadian after all!

Soap Land will also be well represented, with Corrie's Samia Ghadie (Maria Connor) and EastEnder Matt Lapinskas (Anthony Moon) joining the line-up.

And Luke Campbell won't be the only Olympian hoping to shine, as gymnast Beth Tweddle will also be out to impress on the ice.

Past X Factor winner Shayne Ward is joining the bids to take the crown from last year's winner, Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden - as is former Labour MP Oona King, Baroness King of Bow.

This year will also see the return of acid-tongued judge Jason Gardiner, despite past controversies.

Among his many put-downs, the Australian once told former judge-turned-mentor Karen Barber: "If your opinion still mattered, you'd be on the panel."

Contestants haven't been immune from his wrath either.

Jason memorably told Chloe Madeley she had a "baboon bottom" and ex-Neighbours star Craig McLachlan that he looked like he was performing with a "soiled nappy".

The show, presented by Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, returns to UTV on Sunday 6 January.
