Actresses Marion Cotillard and Emily Blunt were the toast of the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards in London on Wednesday night, both picking up top accolades.

The French star landed the International Actor of the Year prize, while Blunt was named British Actor of the Year.

British monarch Queen Elizabeth II, who has been celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, was also an award winner. She was named Icon of the Year to mark her 60 years on the throne.

Scottish singer Emeli Sande was declared Musician of the Year, and Sir Paul McCartney's daughter Stella picked up the British Designer of the Year prize.

Honours also went to actress Ruth Wilson (Breakthrough Award), Dame Vivienne Westwood (Inspiration of the Year), and Olympic medal winners Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton and Ellie Simmonds (British Ambassadors of the Year).
