The 25-year-old accepted her award while wearing a simple white dress at the ceremony at the Dorchester in Mayfair on Monday.
"I'm really actually shaking. I haven't thought of anything to say because I really didn't think I was going to win it and I'm gobsmacked for the first time in my life," she said.
Michelle joined the soap in 2008 and since then has dealt with her dad's disappearance and death, an unplanned pregnancy and helped her boyfriend get hitched in a sham wedding.
Tina is the focus of angry glares on the cobbles after she pushed the abusive Kirsty, who then went into labour.
Elsewhere in soapland, Emmerdale stars partied as the programme received an Outstanding Contribution award in the year the show celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Britain's Got Talent took on The X Factor to be named Best Talent Show and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! was named Best Reality Show.
I'm a Celeb host Ant McPartlin said: "In a couple of weeks we're going out to do series 12, so it really does mean so much to still be winning awards."
Ant and Dec were reunited with a familiar face on the red carpet, Pudsey the dog - who won series six of BGT and performed for the Queen during the Jubilee celebrations in June.
