But with no evidence to back up his claim, Jason may have difficulty proving that Karl is in fact the arsonist.
"Jason is scared of what might happen to Stella, he's concerned about her safety and that's why he's trying to put a stop to the wedding," said Ryan.
Jason soon realises the extent of Karl's secrets and just what he is capable of when Karl admits to setting fire to Jason's van.
"Jason becomes much more suspicious of him, which is why he's so persistent in trying to prove to people that it was Karl that set fire to the pub," Ryan explained.
"He's trying to work Karl out and the more he's in Karl's vicinity, the more he starts to find out about him.
Jason's quite determined and he's not afraid of putting his point across.

"But there are times when Karl flashes him a look and he knows he's not messing around. He's a bit unsure and a bit wary of him."
Jason's investigation leads him to discover that Karl gave Craig Tinker money to keep him quiet, and he sees it as a sure sign that Karl is guilty.
"Its confirmation that his suspicions of Karl are true and its more evidence that Karl's capable of doing anything," said Ryan.
The holes in Karl's alibi for the night of the fire soon become clear to Jason who is now determined on proving his theory.
But when he confides in Dev Alahan about his suspicions, even the widower is sceptical.
"With Dev having so much going on after losing his wife (in the fire), Jason's having a bit of a nightmare and feels like he's fighting a losing battle."
"But as soon as he gets one little bit of evidence he clings on to it. The more evidence he gets the more believable his story is."
