The actress' daughter Katyana Kass slipped over in the foyer of her mother's luxury Los Angeles apartment block after a swimming session.
Collins reportedly found her in a pool of blood and she was checked into the city's Cedars-Sinai hospital.
The actress spent the night in the medical facility with her daughter, who is said to be recuperating after minor surgery to one of her cheekbones.
A spokesperson tells the Daily Mirror: "Joan’s daughter Katyana is recovering quickly and doing well."
A source adds: "Joan spent the night in hospital with her and hasn’t left her side. She’s clearly worried and upset about it."
