How soon is too soon to get into the Christmas spirit? (© Getty)
Festive fatigue has become a common complaint when shops in particular seem to start their preparations for the Christmas season earlier and earlier.
According to a YouGov survey of over 1,000 people across Northern Ireland, seven out of every 10 respondents thought signs of Christmas - like decorations and advertising - had appeared too early.
Only 21% said that Christmas had come at the right time.
"While Christmas is known as the season of goodwill, it seems that - for the majority of people in Northern Ireland - we could do with it being that little bit shorter," Eamonn Finn, from YouGov, said.
"Preparing for Christmas can be a very stressful time, so it seems that for the majority of people here, a later start to the season would be a welcome Christmas present."
But that said, 73% were still looking forward to their Christmas dinner and their turkey in particular.
They must be hoping for some festive magic though, as 63% were also hoping to not put on any weight over the holiday period - and an optimistic 6% said they were actually looking to lose weight!
