Viewers will see the Girls Aloud singer performing her debut solo single Fight For This Love on the show this weekend.
But she said she would feel more scared if her bandmates went to support her.
Speaking to GMTV, Cole said: "The girls are itching to come down to support me when I perform but I kind of don't want them to - because it is scarier."
Asked if husband Ashley or her mother would be in the studio, Cole said: "If my family are sat in the crowd... it depends which members of my family are in the crowd - some of them make me feel like 'Yeah I'm ready', and some make me feel 'Oh God no - Dad's in the crowd' so no, no family or friends."
Cole said nerves were gripping the talent show.
She said: "There are just nerves in the building - the contestants are giving off nervous energy, their family and friends are giving off nervous energy, and on top of that I'm going to go out and sing, and on top of that Whitney Houston is going to also sing too!"
The X Factor is on UTV on Saturday at 8pm. The result show, including performances by Whitney Houston and Cheryl Cole, is screened on Sunday at 7.45pm.
