Singer Cheryl Cole has lashed out at reports she stormed out of a BBC interview after a presenter repeatedly asked a philosophical question.

Cheryl denies storming out of interview

The Girls Aloud star performed solo at the Capital FM Summertime Ball earlier this month and headed backstage at London's Wembley Stadium for a chat with a team from BBC Three.

According to the Daily Mirror, the star was asked: "Why are we here?", prompting Cole to reply that she was at the event to perform.

The newspaper adds that after the presenter repeated the question several times in a bid to get a more philosophical answer, the singer walked out of the interview.

But now the Fight For This Love hitmaker has dismissed the report as "lies".

She writes: "Fyi (for your information).. I have never walked out of an interview in my career. I had to be reminded of what your (sic) even referring to... Stop telling lies."
