The actor has been dealing with a hectic schedule as he continued with a theatre tour while appearing on the final ever series of the ice skating competition. And because Sam and his partner - real-life fiancée Vicky Ogden - have been put in the skate-off five times throughout the series, they were definitely the busiest partnership on the ice."We worked it out that of all the Dancing On Ice series, we skated more than anyone ever - I think we did 20 routines in nine weeks," he explained."It has been exhausting. Last week I was commuting to Liverpool, so that was a six hour commute, four hours on the ice, plus another show."It was a killer, but I've got a night off tonight!"Sam was disappointed to leave the show during Sunday's semi-final following a fantastic skate-off with Ray Quinn. But he kept his spirits high and explained that Dancing On Ice will always mean a lot to him because that is where he met his future wife.He said: "The show means so much to me for so many reasons and obviously I've got Vicky now so it will always be in my heart for that very reason."Vicky was very emotional following Sam's exit from the show and explained to Phillip and Holly she would have liked to see Sam make it to the final purely because he deserved it."Sam worked tremendously hard," she said. "He was doing two jobs, he came on the ice for every single session and gave 100 per cent and it would have been my first time in the final as well."I wanted it so much for him and for us."
