Britney kicks off Las Vegas residency

The Toxic hitmaker launched her two-year Britney: Piece Of Me residency in Sin City with a 24-song set in the first of 100 shows planned for the next 24 months at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Spears donned a skin-tight sparkling bodysuit to perform 2013 single Work B**ch as she kicked off her 90-minute performance which featured pyrotechnics, rain and a huge rotating tree.

Only two tracks from Spears' latest album Britney Jean were featured in the show - Work B**ch and Perfume - while the rest of the set was filled with fan favourites including Toxic, Womanizer, Stronger and Oops!... I Did It Again.

A number of famous faces were in the audience for the opening night show, including Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, who became part of the performance when one of Spears' dancers picked out the singer during a musical interlude.

Cyrus, who was in the front row, played along by stroking the dancer's face.

TV host Mario Lopez also became involved when he was picked out of the crowd to take part in a saucy sequence during which he was tied up by Spears and her dancers.
