The 51-year-old comedian bowed out on Monday after just over a week in camp following advice from doctors.

A spokesperson for the TV show said: "Brian Conley has left the jungle for medical reasons. We will miss him in camp and wish him well."

There were no further details.

Brian's departure comes days after viewers saw him break down in tears over a confrontation with David Haye, when the boxer sparked a row by flicking two burning logs on to the forest floor.

Meanwhile former Corrie actress Helen Flanagan admitted she was disappointed with her performance in Sunday's live Bushtucker Trial.

She won five out of 12 stars in the Bad Day At The Office challenge - making it one of her better efforts - but seemed deflated after having won the full 12 the day before.

Charlie Brooks commented: "That's better than you've done before."

Meanwhile boxer David Haye told the Bush Telegraph: "She's producing the goods now.

"Our baby Helen, she's a true trouper and we're quietly confident now that she's going to produce the goods."

It comes just as the public finally decided to give the 22-year-old a break from the trials, instead nominating Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor in the latest vote.

He will take on the Savage Sewers to win meals for camp - having been picked in the final Bushtucker Trial to be voted for, before the vote-offs begin.

Earlier Hugo was described as being "not normal" by Tory MP Nadine Dorries.

She said: "This has been so amazing for me. I realised that I have laughed so much.

"I realised that the day I entered politics is the day I stopped laughing. I've also realised, because people might say you're with a load of celebrities, but a lot of people in here apart from Hugo are from very normal backgrounds."

Hugo answered back: "What's not normal about my background? Why should I be excluded? I come from the same country as you, I speak the same language."

Nadine then replied: "You're in the top two per cent, so you're not normal. The other 98% are. I've realised how disconnected politics is from people because politicians don't laugh. It's so grim it's just the bubble we work in this disconnected bubble from everything else."

Hugo then asked: "Does Boris laugh?"

Nadine said: "Boris does that's why Boris is so loved as a politician, I've never laughter like this for years."

The hungry celebrities were excited by the arrival of dinner - at least until they saw that the food bag contained crocodile legs.

TV chef Rosemary admitted that she had "never in her life" cooked or eaten this delicacy.
Alongside Hugo she took charge and prepared the meal for camp but tensions rose as she called Hugo "rude", which prompted him to walk off and shed a tear.

He later confessed in the Bush Telegraph that it's the third time he's cried but planned to laugh it off.
