Veteran US rockers Bon Jovi are set to appear on The X Factor ahead of their new world tour.

The band will be performing their new single We Weren't Born to Follow on the ITV1 results show on Sunday November 1st.

Kicking off at the home of the New York Giants and Jets, the two-year tour will begin on May 26th. Bon Jovi's gig at New Jersey's new Meadowlands football stadium will be the first concert inside the new venue, which is nearing completion.

The band announced the tour during an invitation-only performance for 5,000 fan club contest winners and construction workers in the new stadium's car park.

The tour will feature 135 shows in 30 countries.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and lead guitarist Richie Sambora are New Jersey natives.

Bon Jovi is a Giants season ticket holder and said he's been attending games at the old Giants Stadium for decades.

Appearing on the same X factor billing as Bon Jovi will be previous contestants JLS with their latest effort Everybody in Love.

This week, it is the turn of Westlife and Michael Bublé to take to the stage in front of the studio audience and judges Simon Cowell, Danni Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
