"Much love and thanks to Belfast!" drummer Travis Barker said on social networking site Twitter, in the wake of Wednesday night's gig.

The All The Small Things hitmakers went down a storm with local fans and were ably backed-up by energetic support act, The All-American Rejects.

Their drummer, Tyson Ritter, also tweeted his thanks to fans in both Belfast and Dublin for the reception they'd received while on tour.

"You people love shows and make a band want to give it! Thanks for the party," he said.

Blink 182's Belfast and Dublin gigs went ahead despite much of their US tour being cancelled, due to Barker undergoing an emergency tonsillectomy.

Fans had already endured a year's delay to see them in action though.

The tour was originally planned for last summer, but was pushed back to allow them to continue studio recording for their latest album, Neighbourhoods.

The album was released in September last year.
