An evening extravaganza next month will follow a day of Text Santa programming, with special guests and live entertainment.

And there will be some spooky goings-on in a special mini-episode of Coronation Street, with ghostly cameo appearances.

Christine will also be accompanied by Ant & Dec, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for the live show on UTV on Friday 21 December.

This year, Text Santa is raising money for Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz Kidz.

Santa has been very kind to me this year and paired me up with Christine Bleakley! What a fantastic way to start the Christmas countdown!

"I'm rocking around the Christmas tree at joining the Text Santa team. What a great bunch of people to be working with to host this year's appeal," said Paddy.

Ant and Dec said they are hoping to make this year even better than last year's appeal, which raised over £4.1m.

"We're delighted to be returning to host Text Santa again, last year we raised an amazing amount of money and awareness for six truly worthy causes," they said.

"This year we want to make it even bigger and better and you can get involved too by simply ordering a fundraising pack and putting the fun into fundraising."

Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television said: "We want to give viewers a real treat in return for their incredible generosity and support of these inspirational charities."

Viewers of the Text Santa appeal will be able donate throughout the night using JustTextGiving by Vodafone and get involved in fundraising in the run up to the show. The service is free on any network so 100% of the donation will go to the charities.

Festive Text Santa hats will be available in Asda stores nationwide and a percentage of every sale will go to Text Santa.

Santander will once again be taking donations over the counter in their network of 1,300 branches.
