Belfast teen through to bootcamp

Jade Collins is following in the footsteps of last year's X Factor finalist Janet Devlin after getting four yeses from the judges at her Glasgow audition to sail through to bootcamp.

Jade travelled to Scotland with her mum to perform for Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and guest judge Anastacia.

"I've just always dreamt of being here and now I am, it's just hard to believe," she told the judges.

"My mummy is so supportive, she's like my best friend, she's 100% there for me but my daddy is in prison."

I just want him to be here and he can't be here, I can't change that and I never can. Today's audition is so important, this could really, really change things in my life.

The Belfast teen told the judges her dad never got the chance to hear her sing.

"He took the wrong path and wasn't really there for us. I don't want to cry. He was in and out of jail his whole life and just wasn't there for any of us," Jade explained.

The judges praised her passion following her performance, although Gary told her off slightly.

"You didn't warm up properly this morning; you were struggling with some of the high notes," he told her before adding: "We always look for potential in this competition and you have bags of it, it's a yes from me."

Tulisa told her: "We always look for a spark when someone steps on stage, where you just go there is something here and it's something special and I saw that in you today."

"You're so young and you are so emotional, it's like you've got so much pain inside," Louis said. Anastacia agreed, adding: "You are 17 and you have so much passion in your heart."

Meanwhile the step-daughter of football legend Paul Gascoigne failed to impress the judges on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who appeared on reality show Love Island, said she wanted the public to see there was more to her than being "this party girl".

Bianca said: "I just hope they don't think I'm just doing this as another show, this is really what I want, I love singing and hopefully they can see that when I walk on stage, you know that I really do care and that I'm going to be nervous because it means so much to me."

But after her performance of Mary J Blige's I'm Going Down, Gary told her it was "really not good enough".

He said: "What the other 25-year-olds have is that they've been singing all their lives, seriously singing. At 25 you should be a lot better than that. In general it was a bit of a mediocre audition."

Bianca got a bit more sympathy from Tulisa. "I appreciate and admire the fact that you've come up and basically wanted to try something different and change the public's perception of you," she said.

"I think you're a cool girl. I've met you out a couple of times, but I've got to be honest - I don't think the vocals were strong enough for this competition."
