Belfast singer to perform free concert

Fresh from a successful US tour, Belfast singer/songwriter Brian Houston is to take to the stage to perform a free concert at Glenarm Castle as part of the Dalriada Festival.

The critically acclaimed singer will be showcasing his latest album Shelter, a mix of gospel, rhythm and blues with the backing of a full ten-piece band.

Born on the east side of Belfast and growing up in the 70s Brian Houston's musical influences originate from old time gospel tunes and American country.

The singer and his band Rollin Rhythm Revue have received rave reviews for their live performances and are sure to provide an electrifying night at the Dalriada Festival on Sunday 15 July.

"This free concert will certainly kick off the Festival Week festivities in style," Adrian Morrow from Glenarm Castle Estates said.

Brian Houston said he was pleased to be involved in the prestigious festival.

"Dalriada is an ancient kingdom that speaks of bonds between the Celtic people's of these islands and to be associated with such a unifying international event is a honour for me and everyone in the Rollin Rhythm Revue," he said.

The Dalriada Festival will also feature sets from Ronan Keating and Sharon Corr who are performing on Saturday 14 July.

The strongmen compeition Clash of the Celtic Giants, Highland Games is also taking place on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July.

The Glenarm organic salmon fine foods showcase will feature TV's chefs, the Fabulous Baker Brothers as well as a line-up of award-winning Taste of Ulster Chefs, local producers and artisans, who together will celebrate some of the exceptional produce of the Glens of Antrim and Northern Ireland as a whole.
