It's one glittering ceremony after another for Ballymena man Liam Neeson, as he's set to present an award at this year's Oscars - just weeks after being awarded the freedom of his hometown.

Neeson, who received an Oscar nomination for his critically acclaimed role in Schindler's List in 1993, has been added to the line-up of stars who will take part in the 85th Academy Awards on Sunday.

Other previous nominees also presenting awards include Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction actor John Travolta, Frida actress Salma Hayek, and Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy.

Songstress Adele is set to perform at the awards ceremony, as will Barbra Streisand, Dame Shirley Bassey and Norah Jones.

The 2013 Oscars, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, will be telecast from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Among the movies competing for the prestigious Best Picture award are musical Les Misérables, Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and Ben Affleck's Argo.

Steven Spielberg's historical offering Lincoln, starring Daniel Day-Lewis in the title role, and Zero Dark Thirty - a dramatisation of the US hunt for Osama bin Laden - are also among the hopefuls.
