"He let me know that he was going solo," Ashleigh joked while appearing in the This Morning studio with her canine friend on Tuesday.
"I support him all the way as long as it's just the movie and nothing else..."
Pudsey the Dog: The Movie sees the talented pooch befriend a group of children in a sleepy English village, as he helps them outsmart an evil landlord.
In the film Pudsey is voiced by Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams.
"I think David has really brought (his voice) to life," said Ashleigh. "For me it sounds half David and half Pudsey, so very cheeky and very naughty."
Since winning BGT in 2012, Ashleigh and Pudsey have travelled the world and met a host of famous faces, all while showcasing Pudsey's exceptional talents.
But Ashleigh admitted she was daunted by making the film as it was something neither of them had tackled before.
She said: "I was really worried because obviously with film work I couldn't shout out commands or tell him what to do.
"So he had to learn a different sign language so when I was behind the cameras or under tables or behind doors, he knew what to do just by looking at me.
"But at the end of the day you can't teach an animal to act, so he was a bit of a natural."
