Ant & Dec lead NTA nominations

TV presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly lead this year's National Television Awards nominees and are up against themselves for a top entertainment prize with two nominations in the same category.

The pair are competing for the best entertainment programme award for their show Saturday Night Takeaway as well as I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

The Geordie stars are also up for the best entertainment presenter prize, defending the title they have picked up for 12 consecutive years.

The awards ceremony will take place in London later this month and will be hosted by X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary, who is also in the running for best entertainment presenter.

Keith Lemon, Alan Carr and Graham Norton are also included in the category.

Meanwhile Coronation Street will battle with Emmerdale, EastEnders and Hollyoaks for the best serial drama prize.

X Factor and Britain's Got Talent face competition in the best talent show category from Dancing On Ice, Strictly Come Dancing and The Voice.

Downton Abbey is competing for the best drama award, alongside Broadchurch, Call The Midwife and Doctor Who.

Broadchurch is up for further honours with both its stars up for the newly introduced best TV detective award, Idris Elba for Luther, Bradley Walsh for Law and Order: UK, Scott And Bailey's Suranne Jones and Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock.

A varied collection of shows competes for best factual entertainment, with The Great British Bake Off against Top Gear, An Idiot Abroad and Paul O'Grady: For The Love Of Dogs up for the award.

Viewers can vote for their favourite shows at the National Television Awards website.
