Sunita met her maker in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night following a secret visit from arsonist Karl Munro, who previously framed her for starting the blaze.
"It's always you. You ruin everything," Karl told his former lover as she slowly regained consciousness.
A dislodged breathing tube quickly led to the mum-of-two's passing as she suffered a fatal cardiac arrest, seemingly taking the truth about the pub blaze to the grave, while on-off husband Dev was talking to detectives.
In behind the scenes footage, Shobna expressed her amazement at having reached the end of her Corrie journey after 12 years in the soap.
"She's been nearly killed several million times, hasn't she? They've finally got her," she said of Sunita.
"I've had a brain tumour, I've been blown up in the corner shop and, of course, there was the whole tram incident and now the Rovers Return (fire)."
"It feels mad actually, 12 years of Sunita - how she has grown over the years from being meek and mild mannered to raving, horny Sunita!"
I shall miss her. That said, I have made a host of friends cast and crew - friendships that will stay with me.
Shobna announced in October last year that she would be finally bidding farewell to the Weatherfield cobbles.
She said: "I have loved playing Sunita but, having played the role originally from 2001 to 2005 and then returning to Corrie four years ago, I really feel the time has come for me to focus on other aspects of my career.
"I had always told myself I would see my son through school and I have done that. Comedy writing has long been a passion of mine and the commitment to a show like Corrie is huge and doesn't really leave enough time to concentrate on other projects. I'd love to be able to combine my writing and acting career in the future.
"Playing Sunita has been a fabulous opportunity. I've thoroughly enjoyed her journey and am looking forward with excitement to her dramatic departure."
Shobna has recently joined the Loose Women panel and can be seen on UTV from 12.30pm on a regular basis.
