Sony's rose-tinted 3D spectacles
Sony boss Howard Stringer is forecasting a rosy future for 3D gadgets, but there could be one drawback
"The 3D train is moving forward, speedily and steadily," says Sony chief executive Sir Howard Stringer. He's done an impressive job of revitalising the Japanese electronics company, so one shouldn't dismiss lightly his prediction that 3D television sets and other 3D gadgets will soon be extremely popular. Even so, it is very hard to believe that the next big consumer technology trend will require the users to wear spectacles. Haven't we had that fad already?
