The Irish Bank Officials' Association have confirmed they are meeting with the bank's management on Wednesday.

Royal Bank of Scotland is the parent company of the Ulster Bank, which currently employs 5,000 people throughout Ireland.

It is expected to announce plans for global restructuring on Thursday.

Nothing has yet been confirmed by the company.

In 2009, Ulster Bank made 1,000 employees redundant.
