The day after

First Minister Peter Robinson was back at work on Thursday.

First he talked to party workers at his wife's Strangford constituency.

Then he gave a pep-talk in his own east Belfast office.

Around lunchtime the First Minister headed to Stormont Castle and the much awaited meeting with Martin McGuinness.

The talk was about policing and justice but what chance of a breakthrough.

I'm told there was little sign of any change with the DUP repeating its position the devolution could only take place when there was the necessary community confidence.

There was also a staged picture of the DUP ministers joined by the deputy leader Nigel Dodds.

So what is the feeling inside the DUP?

Certainly after Peter Robinson's interview there is great sympathy within the ranks.

Of course, if something else emerges then things would change.

And events like this do concentrate the mind.

Many in the DUP are starting to think about the future and who will eventually take over the party leadership.

Nigel Dodds is currently deputy leader while others feel Arlene Foster has leadership potential.

But for the time being Peter Robinson is the boss.

I feel strongly that Selwyn Blackshould be put under the SPOTLIGHT. It looks to me like he had an agenda, but what that was/is I cannot tell. Very few people save up text messages like that, and he also had a duty of confidentiality. No. Something stinks.

Well it appears there are many questions that need to be asked and answered. Firstly the money. How many other property developers if any are involved with handing over payments. Why did the property developers in question hand over this money. What are they getting in return. Property development is big business. Who is in charge of development in Northern Ireland. Maybe someone should be looking at this? I suspect this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Well I think that Mr and Mrs Robinson should both get out of the political limelight while the going is good. Iris Robinson stands and preaches the word of God and condemns others and look at her thats the pot calling the kettle black if i ever heard it. Both of you resign we need honest people to run our country. Shame on you both, no more DUP votes from me.

Lets not forget that the DUP has only been the 'lead' unionist party since the last General Election - 5 years! The DUP have shamed NI to the outside world, this is only another episode. You couldn't write the script!!!! The unionist people should vote them out of power NOW, the only people damaging NI is the DUP, they have shown themselves to be a bunch of self-righteous, hypocritics - REMOVE them! Poor Jeffrey Donaldson & Arlene ... what did you marry up too??

I have text messages going back 5 years from a dear friend who died. The cheek of Peter Robinson asking his OWN department to get a so called "independent"to investigate HIM. And I think Iris Robinson must RESIGN NOW and not keep hanging on for the money - Many decent DUP voters have been betrayed. Peter just step down - and seniour DUP people need to have the guts to ask him to resign. If this goes on you'll never get my vote .
