First he talked to party workers at his wife's Strangford constituency.
Then he gave a pep-talk in his own east Belfast office.
Around lunchtime the First Minister headed to Stormont Castle and the much awaited meeting with Martin McGuinness.
The talk was about policing and justice but what chance of a breakthrough.
I'm told there was little sign of any change with the DUP repeating its position the devolution could only take place when there was the necessary community confidence.
There was also a staged picture of the DUP ministers joined by the deputy leader Nigel Dodds.
So what is the feeling inside the DUP?
Certainly after Peter Robinson's interview there is great sympathy within the ranks.
Of course, if something else emerges then things would change.
And events like this do concentrate the mind.
Many in the DUP are starting to think about the future and who will eventually take over the party leadership.
Nigel Dodds is currently deputy leader while others feel Arlene Foster has leadership potential.
But for the time being Peter Robinson is the boss.
