On the road again
News
You would think a day with the parties at Stormont would be enough for any Prime Minister.
Not for Gordon Brown it seems.
The PM has invited Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness back to Downing Street to continue the discussions over the devolution of policing and justice.
All sides say some progress was made during the talks at Stormont House.
Interestingly, Gerry Adams said the Prime Minister had assured him money would not be an issue.
Peter Robinson said he was relaxed over the issue and denied there was dissent in the DUP ranks.
Understandably there was an attempt to twist the arm of Ulster Unionist leader Sir Reg Empey.
UUP support for quick devolution would be a sweet triumph for the government. However, I gather the PM was given no guarantees.
But Gordon Brown obviously wants this out of his in-tray.
So back to Downing Street for another round of talks.
Just don't expect a quick result.
