A nice diversion after a week which at best could be described as difficult.
The policing and justice row has rumbled on day to day with still no clear indication of when the devolution will take place.
Taoiseach Brian Cowen will use the Jersey occasion to test the water and he is likely to remind the First Minister that, in his opinion, time is running out.
The governments are worried and there has been much behind the scenes activity to break the deadlock.
Much of that attention has been on the DUP.
The seemingly mixed messages from Jeffrey Donaldson and Peter Robinson have added to the concerns.
A senior Republican told me they were ready for an election if the DUP hasn't crossed the line by Christmas.
But the DUP maintains it still needs the confidence of the community before signing up.
On the sidelines Jim Allister continues to attack at every twist and turn.
No wonder the governments are worried.
