In two weeks time the Assembly will be asked to vote on the Hillsborough Agreement.
It will be a key moment in the political process and is fraught with danger.
Peter Robinson has already made it clear there will be no deal if the Ulster Unionists do not support him in the vital vote.
Predictably the Ulster Unionists are playing hard to get.
So what happens if the necessary support is not obtained?
Almost definitely that would bring an assembly election on the same day as the Westminster vote.
''Not ideal but at least it would bring things to a head and we don't have anything to fear,'' one DUP minister told me.
There is an attraction for the government as well, no major elections for another four years and a chance for the assembly to settle down.
Now every effort will be made to avoid the double vote but implementing the Hillsborough deal is not proving easy.
The Ulster Unionists want education to be on the agenda and don't be surprised if you hear from the First Minister on the subject in the coming days.
An added difficulty is the parties are already in election mode.
The Ulster Unionists have listed 17 potential candidates with the Sylvia Hermon situation still unresolved in North Down.
The DUP is putting its house in order and watch out for the North Antrim selection meeting in Ballymena on March 8.
Which Paisley will it be ....junior or senior?
Election politics is already playing big....sealing the deal will not be easy.
