Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly and Sir Anthony Hopkins all star in the movie adaptation of the famous story, which revolves around a man on a mission to save creation from a flood.
Technicians have been hard at work creating the set on a construction site on Long Island, New York and Aronofsky has called for locals to attend an open call for extras on Saturday.
In a post on his Twitter page on Friday, he writes: "if you are free tomorrow and in long island and want to be in a movie..." before linking to a news article about the filming.
